Hana to Uta – Flower and Poem

Hana to Uta, Flowers and Poems, a cutting-edge AI support tool for generating Tanka* poems, is a collaborative creation of Asahi Shimbun Media R&D Center, Dentsu Craft Tokyo, and Dentsu Lab Tokyo.
This dedicated website offers a unique experience for users to choose flowers and use their thoughts as inspiration to create Tanka poems. With your memories with grandparents and desired flowers as inspiration, the Tanka AI supports composing poems. Users can combine the chosen flowers with the created Tanka poems and send them via platforms such as LINE app. Moreover, the website has a map function that locates nearby flower shops. The tool aims to assist in conveying emotions that are difficult to express in words or feelings that remain unspoken, leveraging the power of flowers and poems.
Furthermore, it collaborated with Shibuya Parco GAKU’s “”Hana-asobu,” organized by the general incorporated association Hanaike Japan Project. On the eve of “Respect for the Aged Day,” we held a special “Flowers and Poems” class for teenagers. Spirited poet Daiji Okano served as the instructor, guiding students in presenting flowers accompanied by poems as gifts to their grandparents.

*Tanka is a traditional Japanese poem that follows a 5-7-5-7-7 syllable pattern, totaling thirty-one syllables in five phrases.
